In 2026, the legendary Wieze Oktoberfeesten returns for a special memorial edition—70 years after the original 1956 launch and 40 years after the last traditional event in 1986. This special remembrance project aims to revive the magic of the Oktoberfeesten for all ages. After 40 years, the authentic concept of the legendary Oktoberfeesten is returning to Lebbeke, running from 18–23 September, immersing Wieze in Bavarian traditions, music, beer culture, and nostalgia. Grand opening parade through Wieze with brass bands, historical floats, traditional costume, dance groups, giants and associations, followed by performances and festive music until late on Wiezeplein Parade finale on the village square with various beer stands and live performances by Die Original Dorfmusikanten and Dendermonds Bierkwartet Unforgettable exhibition on the origins and celebration of the Wieze Oktoberfeesten in the iconic Oktoberhallen, with a spectacular light and sound experience as grand finale Traditional bandstand on Wiezeplein serving as the musical centerpiece, with Belgian brass bands providing authentic Oktoberfest sounds Complimentary beverages for adults, seniors, and children upon entry Unique festive atmosphere, merchandise, and warm community experience
