Tell A Story Day was founded by an entrepreneur called George Rafeedie. The first observance of this day occurred back in 2009, and it has been going strong ever since then! George knew that storytelling was an effective and powerful way to involve, motivate, and connect with other people.
Everyone in the world has a great story to tell, no matter who you are or where you come from. Uncovering these tales and telling such stories enables us to connect with people on a different level. We can also change behavior and motivate people as well. We should not underestimate just how powerful storytelling is!

There are many different ways that you can celebrate Tell a Story Day. Libraries around the country will have storytelling times for children on this day, so you may want to look into this and see what is going on at your local library. You should be able to easily find this information online.
