World Techno Day was first celebrated in 2003 as a way for techno fans to come together to acknowledge and celebrate this genre of music as well as the electronic dance culture that goes along with it.
The event is scheduled to be observed annually on this day as a nod to techno founder, Juan Atkins.

Awakenings Festival (Spaarnwoude, Netherlands) Located just outside of Amsterdam, this festival packs an amazing lineup, makes use of incredible venues and features some of the biggest names in electronic music.
