Programme

Sinksen 2026 runs from 22–25 May with the theme "Back to the Future," offering a total experience from culture and music to sport and children's entertainment for young and old. With its unique mix and warm atmosphere, Sinksen attracts large numbers of visitors far beyond the region each year. It is not a closed festival but a celebration where everyone takes part; visitors stroll through the city, linger where it buzzes and celebrate together.

  • Street theatre is a highlight, with domestic and international artists delivering acrobatics, visual spectacle, humor and musical performances from the Grote Markt that transforms the city centre into an open-air stage.
  • The Sinksen Kids Village in Begijnhofpark features play zones, workshops and creative activities for young visitors.
  • The flea market on Sunday and Monday covers a 4.3 km route connecting Overleie with the Grote Markt via the Leieboorden, Broelkaai, Reepkaai and IJzerkaai, spanning 25 streets total.
  • Multiple locations across the city offer DJ sets and live performances including 't Straatje, Polé Polé, La Bodeguita Del Medio, Strafstudie at Nelson Mandelaplein and Peloeze in Begijnhofpark.
