Scharnaval is the oldest carnival of Brussels still in existence , and celebrates its 92nd edition on Saturday, 21 March 2026 . After several years of interruption and a reduced version in 2024 and 2025, the event makes a full comeback with 21 folklore groups participating . The procession departs from Ambassador Van Vollenhoven Avenue in Josaphat Park and parades through the Helmet district .

- Full-scale procession through Helmet neighbourhood from Josaphat Park to Square Riga, with music, fanfares and traditional Belgian folklore
- Prince of Carnival election returns after 6 years — 2026's Prince is MacCloud Zicmuse
- Post-parade BAMP evening (from 18:30) focused on mental health with cinema, live performances, discussions and refreshments
- Broader route than 2024–25 reduced versions, reflecting complete event restoration
- Free entry to procession; family-friendly carnival atmosphere on streets
