The Nuts Weekend 2026 will be held from Friday 11 to Sunday 13 December 2026 , marking the 81st anniversary of the Battle of the Ardennes . This includes a book and history document fair, immersive and scripted tours, meetings with WWII veterans, period military camps, military vehicle and artillery parades and demonstrations, and light and sound shows . The event commemorates when Brigadier General Anthony McAuliffe of the 101st Airborne Division responded with a resounding "NUTS" to a German surrender ultimatum on December 22, 1944 .
