National Law Week

Law Week got its start in Australia in the late 1990s, put on throughout several different areas of the country. This includes the ACT Law Society, the Law Society of Western Austrailia, a range of partners in New South Wales, and many others. This annual event was founded to promote a better public understanding of the law and the way it functions and supports society. In addition, the hope is to educate the people of Australia on the legal profession and the legal system.
A wide range of public and private organizations throughout Australia are encouraged to celebrate and support Law Week, including libraries, courts, solicitors, barristers, law societies and others associated with the legal community.
In the United States, some individual institutions, such as the Houston Bar Association and the Chicago Bar Association, celebrate their own version of Law Week, but it takes place on the days surrounding Law Day.
