History

The first celebration of National Hire a Veteran Day can be traced back to 2017 when it was established through the efforts of one veteran of the Marine Corps and founder of Hire Our Heroes, Dan Caporale.

The purpose behind the event was to draw more attention for companies and businesses to hire veterans, as well as to advocate for and encourage veterans who are job applicants.

This event is a great time to recognize the many sailors, airmen, soldiers, Marines, and Coast guard men and women who all bring unique skill sets that are vital to the fabric of the workforce and society.
