National Friends of Libraries Week has been celebrated since 2005 to show appreciation for existing library friends and supporters while also improving community relations to build more friendships.
The event was founded by the American Library Association and continues to be an annual initiative that is promoted and supported by this non-profit organization along with other businesses, charities, groups, government agencies, and more.
Host Some Friends of Libraries Events
Make sure those supporters and friends of the local library feel cared for and appreciated during this week through various events and activities! Perhaps it would be possible to host a private thank-you gathering, such as a cocktail hour or coffee morning where local businesses will donate the items needed to cater the event.
