MESA 2026 is the 59th edition of the Marche Européenne du Souvenir et de l'Amitié, hosted in Marche-en-Famenne from June 23–26, 2026. Since nearly six decades, this event assembles civilians and military around shared values. The commemorative ceremonies organized throughout the route immerse walkers in the heart of a rich heritage charged with meaning, blending memory of conflicts with reconciliation. This event allies hiking, historical memory and conviviality between civilians and military.
Tuesday 23 June – Marche-en-Famenne
Opening ceremony, wreath-laying at Maison Jadot monument and War Memorial; departures from Place de la 7e Brigade at 7:30 am (registration from 7:00); 4 loop distances (8, 16, 24, 32 km)
Wednesday 24 June – Sainte-Ode
Stage departure at 7:30 am; presence of VCHOD military command and Brigade commanders; 4 loop distances
Thursday 25 June – Bastogne
Exceptional school participation with 1,289 children from Bastogne schools; stage departure at 7:30 am; 4 loop distances
Friday 26 June – Saint-Hubert
Participation of 850 pupils from Marche-en-Famenne schools; final stage departure at 7:30 am; 4 loop distances; closing ceremonies
