Maanrock started in 1996 as an intimate neighbourhood party with local artists and has grown into a major city festival that attracts more than 100,000 visitors annually. The festival features a broad musical palette across multiple stages at different locations in Mechelen. The 2026 edition runs 27–30 August with free performances at various locations throughout the city. The festival features multiple squares, free entry, and a strong focus on pop, rock and hip-hop.
