Programme

For its 16th edition, Les Médiévales de la Citadelle transforms the Citadelle into a veritable medieval village, populated by over 500 artists, re-enactors and artisans from Belgium and across Europe. Families immerse themselves in a spectacular medieval atmosphere, featuring knights, musicians, jugglers and animations for all ages. This biennial event held the first weekend of July is recognized across Europe for the quality of its programme on an exceptional site.

Part 1

Saturday 4 & Sunday 5 July 2026

  • Spectacular equestrian action spectacles proposed by Cowprod & Cie (FR).
  • Medieval music and festive atmosphere with Troubadours d'Aliénor (BE) for immersion in medieval chants, and Pescaluna (FR) for participatory musical rounds.
  • Reconstituted village of the 13th-14th centuries, equestrian spectacle spaces, and artisan market with period cuisine and refreshments.
  • For children: face painting, pottery workshop, archery, donkey rides, and interactive animations.
  • Special exhibition "Forged in the Shadow, Wielded in Light" – Fantastic Medieval Arms and Armour, included in event admission.
  • Theatre, character parades, tales, music, theatrical spectacles, acrobatics and street animation throughout the routes.
