The Laetare de WeHeLo (Welkenraedt–Herbesthal–Lontzen) is the only Laetare of Rhenish tradition in the region and the only transcommunal carnival procession, uniting francophone and germanophone communities. With nearly 130 performers and a route of approximately 8 kilometres crossing Welkenraedt and Lontzen, it ranks among the longest parades in the Verviers district. A key feature is the enthronement of a Children's Prince and Princess Couple, with the main attraction being the Grande Cavalcade where over 100 floats and groups parade through Welkenraedt and Herbesthal. 130 carnival groups participated Grande Cavalcade with 100+ floats and groups across the streets Dual enthronement of Children's and Traditional Prince/Princess teams Grand finale with all floats parading before Welkenraedt Town Hall Evening ball under a marquee at Place des Combattants Unique bilingual event uniting Francophone and Germanophone participants
