Rooted in a 150-year-old tradition, the Laetare carnival takes place in the city of Loups with three days of intense celebration around warm and welcoming folklore . The event attracts large crowds to the city centre during three days of carnival festivities in a "good-natured" atmosphere .

Sunday 15 March

Dawn: Ramassage (gathering of Gilles by neighbourhood). Noon: Grand Rondeau at City Hall with Peasants and costumed groups; Gilles distribute oranges. 9pm: Fireworks on Place Communale.
