The annual Havenfeesten is a mix of impressive ships, music performances, a flea market, fishing crafts and folklore. This four-day event (14–17 May 2026) brings residents and visitors together in the maritime heart of the city to enjoy a convivial atmosphere. The Havenfeesten combine Sail 2026 in the marina, the North Sea Folk & Shantyfestival, fishing crafts, fish bakers, folklore and animation.
Part 1
Friday 15 & Saturday 16 May
- Colourful collection of Old Gaffers, gaff-rigged classic ships from France, Netherlands and Belgium
- visitors can walk onto the pontoon and admire them up close
- International North Sea Folk & Shantyfestival on Friday 15 & Saturday 16 May—a must for all folk and shanty fans
- Fisher folklore groups and contemporary music bands perform while visitors stroll among crafts markets, fish-baking demonstrations and fish tastings
- Large flea market with authentic maritime atmosphere and conviviality, fully free
- Harbour fairground for all ages on the waterfront during the event
- Folklore participants in period costume from late 19th-century—sailors in blue trousers, jumpers, scarves and caps
