The Hasseltse Jeneverfeesten are an annual city festival celebrating Hasselt's rich jenever culture, attracting thousands of visitors over two days. The 2025 edition welcomed 140,000 jenever enthusiasts. The 2026 festival returns on 17–18 October with music, jenever tasting, and Hasselt hospitality. It transforms Hasselt's city centre into a celebration of this heritage spirit with kraampjes (stalls), street entertainment, live music, and traditional competitions.

  • The iconic "Borrelmanneke" fountain in Maastrichterstraat miraculously flows with true jenever instead of water once a year.
  • The traditional waiter race (kelnerwedloop), where cafés compete to see whose waiters deliver jenever-filled glasses fastest.
  • The Jenever Museum features Saturday's announcement of the new jenever ambassador with music, and Sunday's courtyard performances including acrobatics and live music.
  • A jenever walk/train ride through the city with music in the streets and festive atmosphere.
  • Over 150 brocante (antiques & second-hand) dealers occupy Dusartplein on Saturday morning (7am–2pm) with vintage adverts and memorabilia.
  • The Jos Tuts Jenever Festival on what becomes the "Ambianceplein" with local music and cultural programming.
