Programme

The Carnaval de Genappe is a dynamic and colourful carnival that has delighted visitors since 1990. The carnival procession brings together around thirty floats and bands from the Brabant wallon region. Saturday features an egg hunt, Sunday showcases the procession with floats, Gilles and folklore groups, and Monday is dedicated to children, ending with fireworks and the traditional burning of straw effigies.

16h00 - Lancement de la chasse aux œufs (Plaine communale), 100 kg d'œufs pour les enfants jusqu'à 10 ans. Loges foraines ouvertes à partir de 15h30

Dimanche 29 mars

11h00 - Rondeau des sociétés (Grand Place). 14h45 - Départ du cortège (Pavé Saint Joseph, face au Sloopy), ouvert par les Gilles. Loges foraines ouvertes à partir de 15h00

Lundi 30 mars

13h45 - Rondeau des sociétés (Grand Place). Carnaval des enfants (13h30-15h30). 21h30 - Feu d'artifice (Plaine communale). 23h00 & 23h30 - Brûlages des bosses à plusieurs lieux. Loges foraines à partir de 16h30

Mardi 31 mars

Raclot des sociétés

  • Procession with floats, the iconic Gilles and traditional folklore groups
  • Large egg hunt on Saturday (16h) at Plaine communale with 100 kg of eggs distributed for children up to age 10
  • Sunday rondeau of societies at Grand Place (11h) and cortege departure at 14h45 from Pavé Saint Joseph, opened by the Gilles
