The Boetprocessie van Veurne, organized since 1646 by the Sodality brotherhood, is an important religious event with deep historical roots that takes place annually on the last Sunday of July, reminding us of the spiritual practice of penitence and representing living heritage from the Counter-Reformation era. In the procession the "Standaert" of the Sodality is carried along and the life and Passion of Jesus Christ are depicted in a good twenty scenes in a colorful and lively way.
