In 2026, Sint-Truiden celebrates the 75th anniversary of Bloesemfeesten, a tradition that began in 1951 with a bloesem blessing and grew to combine agriculture, heritage and tourism in Haspengouw. From late March to April, numerous activities are organized in and around Sint-Truiden, including walks and cycling tours between flowering orchards, local product tastings, and fruit business visits. Traditional Bloesemfeest on Sunday, 26 April from 1–6 pm in Guvelingen featuring a blessing ceremony and procession through flowering orchards Lepipz Bloesemfeesten – the first edition of this brand-new festival, running three weekends (5–19 April) at Burcht van Brustem with music, food, games and festive village atmosphere amid blooming orchards "Homo Bloesemversalis" competition – 100 contestants compete in physical and mental challenges between the blooms on 11 April (semi-final) and 18 April (final), with winners receiving fruit prizes BelOrta Bloesembar open 28 March–10 May, with a mini-exhibition on 75 years of Bloesemfeesten featuring historical photographs documenting blossom tourism in Haspengouw Street markets with regional products and crafts, tasting terraces, and children's activities Special activities including vespa tours, blossom bus rides, and nighttime torch walks through the orchards
